DonyayeSerial
DonyayeSerial is a smart Telegram bot for searching and downloading movies and series, with more than 62,000 monthly active users. We built it as a three-person team for a client, and I was responsible for its database and API.
The bot's search engine is connected to IMDb: users search a title by name, see its IMDb page and rating, then pick the quality and subtitles they want to download.
It is fully asynchronous Python: aiogram for the Telegram bot, PostgreSQL through asyncpg, Redis for caching and state, httpx for external services and Pydantic for models and validation. My part was the database schema and the API layer, so the bot can answer a high volume of requests in real time. The project took about four months.
